Pines cafe Buncombe hill Broomfield Bridgwater Somerset.
The Pines cafe is situated on the beautiful Quantock hills in area of outstanding natural beauty with views across to South Wales.
Built originally in the 1920s it was used during the second world war for injured military personnel and Canadian troops were stationed near by at Broomfield common.
After the war The Pines was operated as a BP petrol filling station and car repair workshop a Cafe was added in the 1960s.
In the 1980s an arts and crafts antique’s shop replaced the car workshop but this closed in 2008.
The present owner modernised the business serving breakfast, lunch menu, paninis and homemade cakes and espresso coffee.
Unfortunately trade stopped after the fire and the current lockdown measures have delayed plans for reconstruction.
