Pines cafe, Buncombe hill, Broomfield, Somerset, TA5 1AX.
The Pines cafe is situated on the beautiful Quantock hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty) in Somerset, England.
Built originally in the 1920s as a convalescence hospital, it was used during WW2 and Canadian troops were stationed near by at Broomfield.
After the war years The Pines was operated as a BP petrol filling station and car/coach workshop. Cafe added in the 1960s.
In the 1980s an arts and crafts/antique’s shop replaced the car workshop but it closed in 2008.
The present owner completely renovated the building in 2010 adding a new kitchen, customer decked area and log burner.
