The Pines cafe is situated on the beautiful Quantock hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty) in Somerset, England.
Built originally in the 1920s as a convalescence hospital it was used during world war two and Canadian troops were stationed near by.
In the 1950s/60s/70s The Pines was a petrol filling station and car workshop, cafe added during this time.
In the 1980s an arts and crafts shop was added which closed in 2008.
The present owner renovated the building in 2011 adding a modern kitchen, espresso machine and log burner.
The location makes it a very popular stop for refreshments.. breakfast and lunch.. coffee and cakes.
